AWS Cloud Practitioner vs Azure Fundamentals: which should you take first?

Choose based on the environment around you

If your workplace already uses one cloud, start there. If you are new and evaluating roles, AWS Cloud Practitioner and Azure Fundamentals both test cloud vocabulary, service categories, billing, security, and governance.

Expect vendor-specific service names

The concepts overlap, but the exam questions require knowing which vendor service solves the scenario. Practice should train service selection, not just definitions.

Do not skip hands-on exposure

Even foundational exams are easier when you have seen the portal, basic identity controls, storage options, and cost tools. Pair reading with small lab exploration when possible.
