Security+ SY0-701 retirement: plan around your exam language and date

CompTIA's Security+ page lists English SY0-701 retirement on June 11, 2027. It lists August 13, 2027 for Japanese, Portuguese, Spanish, and Thai. These are the dates checked for this article on September 7, 2026. Confirm the current provider page and available appointment before buying study materials or booking; a published retirement date is not a guarantee of a convenient local appointment.

Write down your target exam code, exam language, intended appointment date, and the objective document used by your study materials. Keep those facts together in your study plan. A resource labeled only 'latest Security+' is harder to evaluate than one that states its exam code and the topics it covers.

If your date is flexible, choose a realistic preparation schedule first. Leave room for interruptions and for reviewing unfamiliar topics. Do not compress study into an unrealistic deadline just because you have already purchased a book or question bank.
